I’m sure that by now, we have all tried AI content generation at least once. And we’re all aware of ChatGPT. But I’m going to discuss a content generation tool that’s specifically targeted towards bloggers – Koala AI.
I’ve been using ChatGPT and it has always worked for me. But Koala offers more. It can generate content and images, has a chatbot, and can create custom GPTs.
If you use AI to generate content, try Koala AI once. It’s similar to ChatGPT but can generate blog posts in just one click.
How is it different from ChatGPT? For starters, it uses keywords, offers spelling and grammar-checking options, gives a readability analysis, and much more. In short, Koala AI is geared towards bloggers. ChatGPT, on the other hand, is more generic.
But content generation is just one of the services of Koala AI. It can generate images as well. Yes, you can get Dall-E image generation with ChatGPT Plus, but Koala AI offers image generation for free. It’s not close to Dall-E quality, but since it’s free, I can’t complain.
In this Koala AI review, I’ll discuss all its services and if it’s worth your time and money.
Koala AI Review
Koala AI is a suite of tools: KoalaChat (chatbot), KoalaWriter (content generator), KoalaMagnets (custom GPTs), and KoalaImages (image generator).
Of all these options, KoalaWriter is the most popular as it lets you generate blog posts. Instead of just one text prompt, it gives you a complete control panel where you can change the settings and generate the kind of content you want.
For example, you can mention the blog title, keywords, automatic linking options, article length, tone of voice, and other things. Most other content generators such as ChatGPT and Claude don’t have these features.
For a free account, you can access the GPT-3.5 model. With a paid account, you can access the GPT-4o model as well.
I have generated blog posts using many tools but Koala AI is really impressive in blog generation. It uses the right tone of voice and can generate short, medium, or even long-form posts.
You can copy or download the generated content. Or you can polish it further. There are many polishing options and I am actually impressed by them. Of course, it is still AI and cannot replace a human writer because AI can never be trusted with information. However, of all the content generators I’ve tested, Koala AI is definitely one of the best.
Pros
- Offers four tools in one subscription
- The writing tool also links to external sources
- KoalaWriter generates content with related images
- Lets you filter sources for citation
- A thriving Discord community
- Free plan available
Cons
- The free account offers limited features
Best Features of Koala AI
Koala AI is an impressive writing tool that can generate blog posts in a very human-like way. Of course, you can generate the same output with ChatGPT but you’d have to give elaborate prompts. Since most people don’t know how to do that, Koala AI would be a helpful tool for them.
Let’s discuss some most prominent features of Koala AI.
KoalaChat
KoalaChat works pretty much like ChatGPT. You enter your question in the prompt box and get AI-generated responses. Koala AI is powered by GPT and Claude. While it does offer a good AI chatbot experience as promised, the responses are very close to those by ChatGPT. Imho, it’s not better or worse than ChatGPT. The experience is very similar.
There is a slider that says Real-time data. You can slide it on to get real time results from the internet.
KoalaWriter
KoalaWriter is the most prominent feature of Koala AI. This tool can create just the right type of articles for you. You can choose whether you want to generate a blog post, a listicle, an Amazon product review, or any other type of content.
You can also give it your target keywords and your website URL for internal linking. It can also include AI-generated images and YouTube videos in the article for you. This is definitely a big plus.
KoalaMagnets
Koala Magnets are custom GPTs for your website. This means you can get a GPT trained for your specific purpose. It is customized AI trained on your company data and can act like a chatbot or offer other services. Some such services are content generation, customer support, product recommendations, and other interactive features.
Since these GPTs will be trained on your company data, they will give a more customized experience to your website visitors.
KoalaImages
Koala Images is an image generator that will create an image for you based on the prompt you give. You can generate images with a free account or upgrade to a paid account for more generations.
The results are decent, but not as good as some other image generators out there, such as Dall-E or Midjourney. However, Koala does produce usable images and even adds them to the content you generate. Since it uses images inside blog posts, it’s a very useful feature.
Discord Community
I love Discord communities. And I love software tools that have active communities – whether on Discord, Reddit, or any other platform. It means that they have an active user base and they’re working on making their software better.
I joined their Discord channel and there were many users online. There is an announcement channel that keeps posting regular updates about the software. If you’re interested in using Koala AI, make sure you join their Discord.
How to Use Koala AI
Koala AI has four different tools. Let me explain the most prominent one, KoalaWriter.
Step 1. Visit Koala AI website.
You’ll see that the KoalaWriter option will be on the homepage. The best part about using Koala AI is that you don’t have to register to try it. Click on Try KoalaWriter for Free.
Step 2. Enter the article details
On this screen, the website will ask you to enter some article details such as the article title, keywords, etc. Enter all the details. Here are the details I entered for this example.
Step 3. Create Article
Once you’ve entered all the details, click on Create Article.
Result
Here is what I got.
This is just a snapshot of the article. It wrote an impressive piece with images inside the article, making it a good read.
Let’s polish the article now.
Click on Polish given at the top of the page.
It will open a drop-down menu.
Depending on your preferences, you can make the choices and polish the article further. Let’s check all the boxes and click on Start Polish. I gave it the polish command and it took about a minute. Once done, the article was split up into smaller paragraphs, and repetitions were removed.
Using KoalaChat
As I mentioned earlier, KoalaChat is pretty much like ChatGPT. It is built on top of GPT and Claude. It gives you the option of choosing between different versions of GPT and Claude models. It also comes with a slider that lets you generate real time results. However, I found that the real time slider doesn’t work for the free account even if it shows you the option.
I asked it to generate some results from the internet and it told me it doesn’t have real time information.
Apart from that, it works pretty much like ChatGPT. I gave it a logical problem and got the right solution. Here’s how it went.
Using KoalaImages
The Koala Images tool is used to generate images. It’s really simple – you have to enter the image prompt in the prompt box. You can also change the style of the generated image and its resolution. Select the style and resolution, and enter the prompt.
A rather simple prompt. Let’s check the result.
Pretty accurate result, I’m happy with it.
Pricing
Koala AI offers flexible pricing plans. There are monthly subscriptions as well as credit packs. Let’s discuss the monthly subscription plans here.
There are seven main plans.
- Free for $0
- Essentials for $9/month
- Starter for $25/month
- Professional for $49/month
- Boost for $99/month
- Growth for $179/month
- Elite for $350/month
The Essential plan is a big upgrade from the free plan as it lets you have API access, bulk writing, and other options. For the bigger plans, the difference is only among the number of words you can generate per month.
If you run an organization and want even more word count per month, there are three more plans for you.
- Scale I for $750/month
- Scale II for $1,250/month
- Scale III for $2,000/month
Scale III will give you 10,000,000 words per month with GPT-3.5. GPT-4o costs double, which means the number of words will be halved for GPT-4o.
User Experience
I like the way Koala AI is organized and how easy it is to generate amazing blog posts. But are other users happy with it? To see that, I visited Trustpilot.
While there were mostly positive reviews, many customers complained about Koala AI customer service. Many customers also complained about subscriptions not getting canceled on time when they requested. Some users had issues with their credits running out too quickly.
After reading the reviews, I would recommend buying the Essentials plan for a few months and upgrading once you’re satisfied with it.
Is Koala AI Worth It?
If you’re a blog writer who wants AI-generated content, Koala AI is definitely worth your time and money. It generates articles and listicles and even generates related images that go with the article.
Plus, it also works with a free account so you don’t have to pay for it. To work with the free account, you don’t even have to register. Just visit their website and start generating content. Of course, there will be restrictions, like you won’t be able to generate real-time content or polish your results.
Other than that, the free account works great. And if you decide to upgrade, $9/month isn’t much. For just $9, you can get real time data, internal linking, SEO optimization, API access, and a lot more. So yes, I believe Koala AI is absolutely worth it.
Koala AI Alternatives
Koala AI isn’t the only content generator out there. There are many good AI options that can replace it. Let’s discuss some of those options.
ChatGPT
We’ve all heard about ChatGPT. The latest model of ChatGPT is GPT-4o. Koala also works on GPT, including GPT-3.5 and GPT-4o. The difference between Koala and ChatGPT is that the former gives you options to enter article title, keywords, and other different things to generate content.
Of course, you can generate the same content with ChatGPT if you know how to come up with the right prompt. If you’re on the free plan, Koala AI will be a better option for you because it will also generate images and have external links in the blog posts.
Both of them are very similar because they’re built on the same model. Koala mainly uses GPT but you can switch it to Claude if you want.
Jasper AI
Jasper is more focused on marketing efforts. If you’re a business owner looking for a content generator that could adopt your brand voice, try Jasper. It can integrate easily with your other tools and work seamlessly across several platforms.
But if you’re a beginner or an individual who just wants plain blog posts, Koala AI will be a better choice for you. The basic plan of Koala AI starts at $9/month while Jasper’s basic plan starts at $39/month.
Jasper supports multiple languages and can check for plagiarism. It can also generate art and images to be used in your content. And the best part is that it has a browser extension so it can work with any web-based tool.
Scalenut
Scalenut isn’t just an AI content generator but an all-inclusive content marketing tool. All you have to do is give it your keywords and it will give you multiple blog ideas and a content plan. It will make sure you rank high on Google by doing a competition analysis.
If you already have some content on your blog, it will audit the content and see how it performs on search engines. Heck, it will even detect if the content is written by AI or a human. AI content doesn’t generally score well on search engine algorithms so AI detection is an important tool.
The basic plan of Scalenut costs $39/month and you get a 7-day free trial on it. But there are no free plans.
Conclusion
Koala AI generates blog posts, listicles, product reviews, and all sorts of other content. It also places images, external links, and YouTube videos in posts, making it an outstanding tool for bloggers. Plus, its basic services are available for free. And since you don’t even have to register to use it, I’d say open the Koala website and check it out once, it’s worth your time.
